Yesterday I ended up going to bed at 1:00 EST (I think but I’m not really sure because we had to set the clocks back an hour). I slept really well until what I believe was 5:30 WTWO (that would be “Whatever Time We’re On”). Once again, call me crazy, but I love getting up before everyone else to watch the sunrise. As I told my Instagram Live Stream viewers this morning, nothing beats sunrise at sea (except maybe sunset at sea)!
I counted four breakfasts this morning (I know it’s a new record), but I’m not 100% sure because I started to lose count after two. I started with a couple pastries from the Garden Cafe, but I only ate the chocolate croissants because I didn’t like any of the other ones. I have now apparently found the need to defend my food choices, but I don’t actually care because I’m on vacation and you’re not. This is my new diet.
When I went back to our stateroom, we headed to second breakfast. If you stay in The Haven, you have the option of being served all three meals (unless you’re like me and eat three meals every time, then that would be 9 meals a day) in the Epic Club. I ordered three more breakfasts in there. I got the Buttermilk Pancakes, French Toast, and the Huevos Rancheros. It was all very good, and I may or may not have finished it all. I’m gonna remind you again, calories DO NOT hop international borders, and CANNOT swim. You’re gonna know this saying by heart by the end of this trip!
Back when we first booked this cruise, I volunteered to set up the Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle, and have been looking forward to it ever since. A lot of planning went into this, and it was nice to finally see it come together. I loved meeting everyone, and I would definitely volunteer to do it again. I also really liked getting to meet and talk to some of the officers and cruise director on board! Our cruise director is Andre, and he’s super cool and energetic! Thanks to everyone who came out!
The rest of the day after the Meet and Mingle was pretty chill. I went to the Garden Cafe and further enhanced my diet with some more carbs and sodium. Let me tell you, Robert Atkins would have had an aneurysm if he saw what I had for lunch! After lunch, I fell asleep on our balcony for an hour, until our room stewardess came and jump scared me out of my deep sleep. As we got ready for dinner, I downed about 18 strawberry daiquiris. NCL’s strawberry daiquiris are perfectly mixed and are to die for. They are pretty filling too.
Tonight we had dinner and a show! We went to the Cirque Dreams dinner show in the Spiegel Tent. They served us a three course meal, and then put on an absolutely breath-taking show. However, it all seemed like a balancing act to me (get it?). A lot of the acts were very stressful, but a lot of them were also really funny. The people were really bendy. At some points I was pretty sure that they were gonna snap in half and fall on to us. I think the show would have been even better if it had followed a story line. Don’t get me wrong, all of the acts were INCREDIBLE, but I think a story would have greatly improved it. If you are sailing on the Epic, make sure to book this show as soon as possible because it books up so fast.
When we got back to our room after dinner, we ordered even more dinner from our butler. The poor guy came in to take our empty dishes, and we ended up ordering more food! We ordered the chicken soup, which unfortunately reminded me of the Matzo Ball soup from night 1. I also downed a cheeseburger and fries.
Today we are in Ochos Rios, Jamaica, and we couldn’t be more excited! I’ll see you tomorrow for a review of Jamaica. See you then!
