On February 1, 2018, Royal Caribbean announced many new features coming to Mariner of the Seas, after her $90 million dry dock coming later this year. Starting in June, Mariner will sail three and four night Bahamas cruises from Miami to Nassau and CocoCay.
“At Royal Caribbean, we believe in the constant pursuit of adventure, and that every weekend is an opportunity to experience something new, and live life to its fullest,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “With the new Mariner of the Seas we invite travelers to weekend like they really mean it and make the most of a quick getaway than they even thought was possible.”
One of the new features coming to Mariner is the Sky Pad. The Sky Pad is a bungee trampoline experience where guests will have the choice to wear virtual reality headsets that will transport them to another planet where they become free to jump around craters, or play intergalactic games. There is no age restriction on this new attraction.
Mariner will also feature a set of new waterslides, known as The Perfect Storm, where guests will be able to race with friends and family. Also among the additions are a glow-in-the-dark laser tag “Battle for Planet Z” experience, and a new escape room known as Puzzle Break: The Observatorium. The escape room will put minds to the test where guests will need to find hidden clues and solve a series of high-tech riddles to solve the mystery. Guests will only have sixty-minutes to play. Royal Caribbean also announced the addition of a forty-foot-long FlowRider surf simulator.
On the lounges and bar side, Mariner of the Seas will feature a new Polynesian-themed lounge with tiki-chic decor, The Bamboo Room. Along with the addition of The Bamboo Room, Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade will feature live sporting events. Sports fans will have the opportunity to enjoy ice-cold beer, wings, sliders, and more.
Last, but not least, Mariner will feature many new culinary experiences. Guests will be able to liven up their mornings even more with Starbucks at sea. Italian lovers will be happy to find a brand new Italian restaurant on-board. Jamie’s Italian will offer dishes with seasonal ingredients with delicious pastas made daily. Izumi Hibachi and Sushi will also be coming to Mariner.
Mariner of the Seas will soon be the ship to beat when it comes to fun!
