The Carnival Conquest currently sails from Ft. Lauderdale on 4, 5, and 7 night cruises to the Western Caribbean.
On February 21, 2011, a loaded fuel barge came alongside the Conquest. Both vessels were taken by the water current and collided. No pollution or injuries were reported. Damages were bow dents on both vessels.
On April 20, 2014, a lifeboat was damaged due to a gangway raising sensor failure. The gangway’s tunnel top hit the lifeboat on the port side. The lifeboat was replaced before leaving port that day. Damage was estimated $10,000.
On January 14, 2014, while the ship was docked in Roatan port, an American family of five was robbed at gunpoint. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. Mr Jeff Smith, together with his wife and three daughters suffered a masked gunman attack. The man jumped out of bushes on a beach access road and started shooting at Smiths’ rental car. The car was wrecked. After pursuing the family on foot, the gunman robed them of their iPhones, camera, and cash, while holding them at gun point. On the same day, another passenger had a shotgun pointed at family while on sight-seeing guided tour.
On May 11, 2003, a 35-year-old male passenger fell overboard from his cabin’s balcony on deck 10 at approximately 1:00 AM. Initial searches were unsuccessful, but on May 14 his body was found.
On November 18, 2004, a 60-year-old male passenger jumped overboard, committing suicide. During the accident, the ship was docked in Georgetown, Grand Cayman.
On November 4, 2006, a 42-year-old male passenger jumped overboard from his cabin’s balcony at 11:00 PM. The ship, that was en-route to homeport, Galveston TX, turned around and started a search and rescue operation that lasted 4 hours until the arrival of USCG. The man’s body was never found.
On, December 1, 2007, when the ship docked in New Orleans, a 77-year-old male passenger was reported missing. The search operation was ended after a suicide note was found, saying that he jump overboard.
On January 23, 2011, a 46-year-old male passenger died after suffering a heart attack. The man started shaking and dropped to the floor becoming unconscious. Security performed CPR for 10 minutes, but the efforts were unsuccessful. He was traveling together with his family.
On May 14, 2011, the ship returned in homeport Galveston 2 hours late due to a medical emergency incident. About 1 1/2 hours after it left Cozumel, a male passenger suffered a heart attack and the vessel returned to the port to disembark him.
September 25, 2011, a 39-year-old male passenger jumped overboard at approximately 6:30 PM while the ship was in the Gulf of Mexico waters. The man was reported seen jumping overboard by other passengers who, shortly after it left Cozumel, Mexico. The Captain informed local authorities and turned the ship around for a search and rescue operation. The missing passenger has never found. According to unofficial information, the man was drunk and arguing with his girlfriend.
On October 20, 2013, a male crew died in an accident while the ship was docked in New Orleans. He was performing ship maintenance work and was crushed to death between a lift-platform and a lifeboat platform.
On April 15, 2015, a 31-year-old male passenger (from Virginia) died after two Jet Skis collided. The incident happened on Grand Cayman at the Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa. The victim and his 37-year-old girlfriend were thrown into water when their Jet Ski collided with the one driven by a 15-year-old male passenger (from NYC, New York). The boy was passenger on the Carnival Paradise (also docked there).
On June 13, 2007, on a sponsored by Carnival shore excursion in Jamaica, 17 passengers were visiting Lethe Estate when they were robbed by 2 men at gun point. No physical injuries were reported during the incident.
On April 14, 2008, a drunk male passenger was evicted from the ship in Montego Bay, Jamaica, after an altercation incident with other passengers in the disco nightclub.
On May 21, 2008, a 24-year-old male crew was arrested ashore in Jamaica for trying to buy cocaine. He was jailed overnight and bailed the next day for $1000.
On June 24, 2009, a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a male crew. The incident happened in the hallway, when she was approaching her cabin. The crew made sexually suggestive comments, then grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her into one of the passenger lifts. In January of 2010, her family filed a lawsuit.
On September 29, 2010, at the Lido buffet restaurant, due to vessel’s movement, a female passenger lost balance and fell, fracturing his wrist and spraining his left hip.
On October 22, 2010, a 67-year-old passenger received an $125,000 settlement in a lawsuit against Carnival Cruise Lines. She sustained an injury in Grand Cayman while cruising in April. The incident occurred when passengers were boarding a tender to get to the George Town dock. The boats were operated by another company. The woman fell when exiting the boat and sustained an injury, spending the rest of the voyage in a wheelchair.
On February 20, 2011, a drunk male passenger slipped and fell while climbing wooden steps. He was disembarked and taken by ambulance.
On May 17, 2011, a male passenger experienced respiratory distress and cardiac failure. He was transferred to a small boat and transported to Key West FL for treatment.
